A slower, quieter island, with a reef and clear lagoons
Smaller and quieter than Havelock, with calm lagoons, a reef off Bharatpur Beach and sunsets at Laxmanpur. It is an island to cycle around and to spend long afternoons on the beach, with fresh seafood in the evening. There is no airport, so you arrive by ferry.
Getting around. The island is small and flat. Cycles, scooters and autos are the way around. Bharatpur Beach is close to the jetty, Laxmanpur is best at sunset, and Sitapur is for sunrise.

The season begins, with calm seas and blue water.
Crystal-clear water and calm seas. Ideal for snorkelling, diving, and island-hopping. The most popular season — book well in advance.
Warm and mostly dry. Sea conditions are still good. Slightly fewer tourists than December–January.
Heavy rain and rough seas. Many islands become inaccessible. Not suitable for beach or water activities.
Post-monsoon recovery. Seas begin calming in November. Great for deals and fewer crowds.
