Your expert’s note

Since the Sela Tunnel opened in 2024 vehicles can bypass the summit entirely in bad weather, so a winter itinerary can now reach Tawang even when the pass is shut - but you lose the pass and lake stop, so build the photo halt into a fair-weather day. Drivers coming straight up from Assam often feel the altitude here first.
