Shoes come off before you go in, as at other Pushkar temples. By long-standing temple rule only sanyasis (ascetics) may enter the sanctum, so householders, meaning married men, make their offerings from the outer hall through a sanyasi priest. The widely repeated claim that cameras, phones and leather are barred inside could not be confirmed officially, so plan on using a cloakroom rather than assuming you can carry valuables in.
