Go early - it opens at 06:00 and by mid-morning the stepped walkway is a queue, because this is the closest waterfall to Shillong and every city tour stops here. In the February-to-April dry season the three tiers reduce to thin ribbons, so weight the itinerary towards Laitlum or Umiam instead.
