One of the most scenic drives in North India — 9-10 hours through Kausani, Bageshwar, Chaukori, and Thal. Pass through river valleys (Saryu, Ramganga), pine forests, waterfalls, and remote mountain villages. Arrive in Munsyari by evening (altitude 2,200m). Check into your premium mountain lodge with Panchachuli views from the room. Evening tea on the deck as the five peaks turn gold at sunset.
Morning trail through Bhotia heritage villages — meet families whose ancestors traded with Tibet through high passes. Visit Tribal Heritage Museum (Dr. Sher Singh Pangtey's collection). Local handicraft centres — Bhotia
Early start for the Khaliya Top trail — a moderate 8 km return trek to a panoramic high-altitude meadow at 3,500m. Snow remnants even in summer. Panoramic views of Panchachuli, Nanda Devi East, and Hardeol from the meadow. Packed mountain picnic at the top. Return by afternoon.
Today is intentionally slow. Optional: drive to Birthi Falls (a 122-foot cascade) or visit Maheshwari Kund. Café visits in Munsyari town. Photography session at signature ridge viewpoints. Final farewell dinner with the entire five-peak range glowing in alpenglow. Bonfire under one of India's clearest night skies (zero light pollution at 2,200m).
Slow breakfast. Begin the long return journey to Kathgodam, onward to Delhi. Arrive Delhi late night (or take overnight train from Kathgodam, reaching Delhi the next morning).
